Ocean Winds UK Team Welcomes California Delegation to their Scottish Facilities

On March 28th, the Ocean Winds UK team welcomed a delegation of California legislators and state policymakers to their Scottish facilities. It was a great opportunity to showcase OW’s successful work in Scotland as we develop our 2 GW Golden State Wind project in California.

The OW UK team gave a tour of various facilities in the Moray Firth, including the Port of Invergordon and the Port of Nigg, which are successfully supporting the construction of the 882 MW Moray West project. Port infrastructure is essential for bringing offshore wind online and building a local offshore wind workforce. Long-term coordination across multiple sectors is also critical for building port infrastructure that can successfully support the clean energy transition.

The UK team showed the delegation their expertise in developing socio-economic opportunities in the region and shared their experience in collaborating with and supporting local and national suppliers, which has led to the development of a local industry with international potential.

Our Golden State Wind team looks forward to building on OW’s international experience and continuing to work with California legislators, policymakers, ports, and other stakeholders to achieve our clean energy goals.
